VOGEL TRAFFIC SERVICES:
SETTING THE PACE |

When John Vogel retired, Donald W. Vermeer took charge of the Vogel marking crews, and the manufacture of the EZ-Liner stripers and Vogel traffic paints. All activities related to pavement marking were eventually consolidated under a single business umbrella called Vogel Traffic Services, Inc (VTS). During the 1980's, the Vogel crews wanted an intermediate striper for smaller jobs in order to increase the efficiency of the long-line stripers. In response, EZ-Liner developed the first airless pickup striper. Government subdivisions and other contractors saw the pickup stripers used by the Vogel crews and called to order their own. Soon after came the palletized stencil unit, developed for the Minnesota DOT. |

The 1990's brought a revolution in the highway marking industry with the transition to latex paints, and EZ-Liner Industries and Vogel Traffic Services have been in the forefront. VTS was an industry leader in solving the problems associated with the first generation of latex paints, and also led the industry in the areas of bulk packaging, innovative paint contracts and technology in paint manufacture.
For EZ-Liner Industries, the 1990's have been a decade of innovation and development in the area of waterbase-compatible equipment. Stainless steel and plated components were tested under a variety of conditions, including harsh field tests, and only the very best were incorporated into EZ-Liner equipment. EZ-Liner is currently recognized as a leader in the area of truck-mounted striper manufacture, while continuing to dominate the pickup striper market and produce hundreds of walk-behind stripers each year. |

| Today, as part of Vogel Traffic Services, EZ-Liner takes advantage of the expertise of the other divisions of VTS: the Traffic Paint Division and the Highway Marking Division. With these resources, EZ-Liner Industries can offer information and expertise in traffic paint technology, equipment operation and maintenance, and application techniques. This all-encompassing understanding of pavement marking is unique in the industry. As a result, EZ-Liner Industries continues to be a leader in solving problems, such as meeting the requirements of performance contracting and retroreflectivity mandates for contractors and political subdivisions. | ![]() |
